After Being Stoned, Paul Is Left for Dead

The Jews did not like it when Jesus preached to the Gentiles. At one service Jesus healed a crippled man and the congregation were excited about this miracle. Some thought that Barnabas and Paul were gods. This upset Barnabas and Paul and they objected to being worshiped as gods. Some travelers from Antioch came at this time and said the men were impostors. The crowd got so angry that they wanted to kill Barnabas and Paul. Barnabas escaped but Paul was stoned. His body was dumped outside of town. He later miraculously opened his eyes and stood up.
