Deep Water

I had a friend who wanted an original painting that would speak to him and to those who came to his home. This man had a wealth of business experience a heart to do what is wise and right. In the end I came up with this painting based on Proverbs 20 v 5, which reads, The purpose in a mans mind is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out. Often people are very reluctant to disclose the secrets and deep motives of their hearts. The left face therefore attempts to muzzle himself with his hand. The right face sheds light and is in no hurry. He gently offers genuine friendship and watches carefully, his hand is cupped to his ear, to gain visual and verbal insights. If he has learned to listen to God, he will be reaching for the inner voice of His Spirit, in order to speak life into the current situation.
