It Is Finished, Calvary

Golgotha, or Calvary, is a small hill just outside old Jerusalem’s city wall. In Roman times it was the place of public crucifixions where the condemned suffered slow and agonising deaths right alongside a main thoroughfare. The word, Golgotha literally means, place of a skull. Even today the hill has a skull like appearance. If you look closely, you will discover the shape of a cross half hidden behind a bush, at the point where light and darkness meet. Also half hidden are the words, Through death He destroyed him that had the power of death. If this impacts you, look closely at my painting, Road to the Cross.
